Knitting 101 Classes are here!!

In this beginner knitting series attendees will learn the basics of knitting as well as many techniques along the way.

In project #1, which is a super easy cowl… little bit of knit, little bit of purl, lots of stockinette, and learning knitting in the round! I know scary, but trust me, it’s easier that one thinks!

Then in project #2, we transition and still going in the round, in to making a chunky beanie! Also learning how to use double point needles (DPNs).

And the final lesson is project #3, a strait forward shawl. Nothing too fancy, yet enough interest where later down the road one can get really creative with this basic starter shawl pattern. We will go over how to knit flat, while still using circular needles (trust me it will make more sense when we start), plus learning how to increase with yarn over techniques, and make the stockinette stitch while working flat. It is the biggest project out of the three, so this I thought would be a great finalle!

The class dates are spread apart due to the fact that knitting does take longer than crochet, but I guess that could be person depending.

Class dates:

Mondays 9-11am: Sept. 21, Oct. 5, and Oct. 19 (I will make adjustments to the shop’s hours so folks can enjoy there whole lesson without me being pulled away)

OR

Saturdays 6-8pm: Sept. 26, Oct. 10, and Oct. 24

Included in the class fee:

• Full patterns (released each lesson)

  • Optional Tool kit: Needles needed for the projects(Knit Pro Dreamz US 8 24” & 32” circular needles, US 9 & US 10 16” Circulars, and US 9 Double Point Needles), retractable tape measure, Clover brand beginner knitting accessories kit (Beginners set includes small and large soft ring markers, point protectors, and medium stitch markers), mini scissors, a set of Clover brand Chibi darning needles, and a simple zipper pouch to store the goodies in. (an additional $110, if selection is made to get the tool kit, but students can go week-to-week getting their supplies) — I say optional on this part because not everyone has the funds to get everything all at once, so we can definitely get you set up supplies week-to-week, one request with that is do plan to come in before the next session to get all settled with your new supplies and tools, it does make things go smoother. And some folks may have some of these needles already and may not want duplicates. The Optional tool kit price also includes the 10% class discount.

-One thing that I would encourage for you to have and or bring is a project tote bag, this will be very helpful for making your projects portable for every occasion. Because who knows, knitting at the bar or on travels may become a new norm!💫

-Yarn is sold separately because we have and love our own styles and want to pick colors that are so them! So when the day comes to pick out yarns for class, I will be here to help! Plus all supplies for class get a 10% class discount when purchased at Fox & Hare Creations.

Deadline for class registration is two weeks prior, Sunday September 6th. This is so I can make sure I have time to put the kits together.
